Every vocation begins with a question. If you have been wondering whether God is calling you to be a priest, a brother or a sister, take a quiet moment with these:
- Do you find your ministry more life-giving and energizing than your work week?
- Do you feel called to give more, or to be more?
- Does the idea of becoming a brother, sister or priest keep coming back — time and time again?
- Does your relationship with God sustain and enliven you, so that you want to share the Good News with others?
- Do you long for “more”?
- Do you have a sneaking suspicion that you are on the brink of a major life decision?
- Are you hesitant to tell friends and family that you are thinking about a Church vocation?
- Do you feel a recurring tug in your heart to serve others more?
If several of these ring true, you may have a vocation to the priesthood or religious life — and the best next step is a conversation.

Many priests and religious say their vocation was first noticed by someone who loved them. Encourage the young people in your life to ask the question, pray for them by name, and consider bringing the Elijah Cup to your parish.
